1978 and the same year was his first tour with the Rick and
Thel Carey Show. |

appeared with American Don King and followed that with a guest
spot at the Gore Gold Guitars Awards in New Zealand. |
| From the mid 80's
to early 90's JR produced a range of singles
and albums. |
| JR was awarded
an Honorary Life Govenor of the Royal Children’s
Hospital for his work in organizing fund raising concerts. |
| JR
has been the host of every Victoria/National Country
Awards, they are broadcast live ria satelite all over
Australia. |
| He was inducted into the Hands
of Fame in Tamworth in 1994. |
| In 1996 JR was
named Victorian Coutnry Entertainer of the year. |
